Marwan Ghonima

Marwan Ghonima is a bassist and composer from Houston, Texas, working on both upright and electric bass as a bandleader and composer.

He has studied jazz since his youth — training at the Houston High School for the Performing and Visual Arts before being selected for the Pacific Jazz Ambassadors, the successor to the Brubeck Institute at the University of the Pacific, where he learned from and performed music with Elena Pinderhughes, Carl Allen, Walter Smith III, Marquis Hill, and others.

He is also a co-founder of [ montagem ], a Houston-based event organization.
